Overview

Introducing the RESTCLOUD 24-Inch Monarch Butterfly Habitat, a pair of tall, pop-up enclosures designed for rearing caterpillars and watching them transform into butterflies. The professional version emphasizes stability with a square footprint that sits upright, reducing movement during feeding and observation.

Key features that matter

  • Five mesh panels promote steady airflow, helping maintain comfortable conditions inside the enclosure.
  • Clear vinyl window provides a near real-time view of chrysalis development and butterfly emergence.
  • Collapsible, reusable design with an unfolded size of 15.7 by 15.7 by 23.6 inches, offering generous space without bulk.
  • Tall and wide enough to accommodate growing caterpillars and small plants, reducing crowding during the life cycle.
  • Large zipper side opening makes feeding easier and supports gentle releases into the wild.

Real-life use scenarios

Perfect for classroom projects, family science activities, or hobbyist butterfly rearing. You can observe caterpillars as they molt, form chrysalides, and emerge, all in a controlled space that invites hands-on learning. Butterflies may interact with curious observers during the release phase, offering a memorable moment.

Each package includes two butterfly habitats and a quick start guide to help you begin confidently. The guide offers practical setup tips and best practices for ongoing maintenance.

Care, maintenance, and longevity

  • Handle with care when opening to prevent the enclosure from popping open unexpectedly.
  • Flatten PVC creases quickly by placing the unit in warm sun or using a short hair dryer session.
  • After use, rinse, then soak in a mild bleach solution (5 percent) for about 20 minutes, rinse again, and air dry.
  • Store the cage flat when not in use, keeping it protected from dust and damage.

Storage and portability

Thanks to its fold-flat design, the enclosure stores neatly in a closet or under furniture between seasons. Built to be reused, it supports multiple setups without sacrificing form or function.
